Basic Old School Sauerkraut

You can’t go wrong with good old-fashioned sauerkraut. So crispy and delicious with any meal! Please follow the directions shown on my How to Ferment page. Here’s what you will need to enjoy this amazing sauerkraut:

1 Head Cabbage
1 Tbsp Sea Salt
Fresh Dill (optional)
Water (enough to submerge)
1 Lemon
1 Starter Culture such as Caldwell’s Cultured Vegetable Starter or Body Ecology Starter Culture (Optional but highly recommended!)
